BEFORE SCHOOL CARE

Our before school programme provides a relaxed, supportive environment where children can ease into their day.
A typical morning includes:

Healthy breakfast options

Quiet, child-led activities to start the day calmly

Warm drinks (like Milo) on colder mornings

Time to get organised and ready for school
Children are then safely transported to school, with drop-offs timed to fit with each with each school’s start time. (For details of your school please check programme details for more information)
AFTER SCHOOL CARE

After a busy school day, children can relax, recharge and enjoy a range of engaging activities.
Daily routine includes:

Safe collection from school

Young children are collected from their classrooms

Older children walk to programme

If being collected from a feeder school - dedicated KAS vans will collect & deliver children to their KAS programme.

Homework support (Homework Club)

Technology is a privilege in our programmes and times are specified when they may be used.

Children are grouped by age to ensure activities are appropriate and enjoyable for everyone.

ATTENDANCE & SIGN IN All children must be signed in and signed out each day using our tablet or phone For Before School Care, children must be: Brought into the programme by a parent/caregiver Signed in on arrival ABSENCES & LATE PICK UP Please notify the programme if your child will be absent If we need to contact you to confirm an unexplained absence, a phone call fee may apply Programmes close at 6.00pm Please ensure you have a backup person available for pick-up Late collection fees apply (see Fee Schedule) BOOKINGS & CHANGES Permanent Bookings Regular, ongoing care for consistent weekly schedules Permanent bookings are ideal for families who require the same days each week throughout the year. KEY INFORMATION: Permanent bookings are set days each week for the full year If a full-year booking is not provided, KAS will allocate bookings on your behalf Booked days cannot be swapped or cancelled during the enrolment period ATTENDANCE & FEES Permanent bookings are charged based on the booking, not attendance If your child is absent, full fees still apply Additional days outside your booking will be charged at casual rates MAKING CHANGES: A minimum of 5 business days’ written notice is required for: Cancelling a booking Changing booked days All changes must be sent directly to the KAS office (not programme staff) Email KAS HO @ admin@kidsafterschool.co.nz ABSENCES & EXTENDED LEAVE: If your child will be away for 5 consecutive days or more: A 50% holding fee will apply Two weeks’ written notice is required EARLY SCHOOL FINISHES: If KAS operates at your child’s school, attendance is expected on early finish days Please notify us if your child will not attend Charges still apply if your child does not attend If your child is booked for an early session and collected later - you will be charged the difference to a full session DISCOUNTS: Full-week discounts apply only when: Your child attends 5 full sessions per week, every week CASUAL BOOKINGS: Casual bookings are for families who need care on an as-needed basis. KEY INFORMATION: Casual bookings are one-off or irregular bookings These bookings do not follow a consistent weekly pattern FEES & CONDITIONS: Casual bookings are charged at a higher casual rate All casual bookings are charged regardless of attendance SAME DAY (EXPRESS) BOOKINGS: If care is arranged on the day by programme staff: Casual rates apply Fees will still be charged if your child does not attend NOTIFICATION CUT-OFF TIMES: To avoid full charges, you must notify the KAS office by: After School Care: before 12.00pm on the day Before School Care: before 5.00pm the day prior If notification is not received in time, full fees will apply COLLECTION ARRANGEMENTS: If someone not listed on your profile is collecting your child: You must notify the programme in writing (text is acceptable) FEES & PAYMENTS: Invoices are issued weekly in advance (on Mondays) Payment is due by the Monday of the week care commences PAYMENT OPTIONS: Internet banking Kids After School Ltd – ANZ 06 0401 0280875 00 Credit card (via Aimy Plus – fees apply) Direct debit (via Aimy Plus – fees apply) MANAGING PAYMENTS: Log in to Aimy Plus View invoices under the Payments tab Select invoices and click “Pay Now”, or Set up a scheduled direct debit WINZ OSCAR Subsidy We support families applying for the OSCAR (WINZ) Subsidy and are happy to help guide you through the process - please contact our office on 09 236 4078 . To ensure your subsidy is processed smoothly, please note: All OSCAR subsidy application forms must be submitted before your child starts attending KAS Declaration forms must be completed and returned to the KAS Office at least one week before each school holiday programme Parents/caregivers are responsible for weekly fees until such time as the subsidy is processed.
