WELCOME TO KAS waiuku
KAS has proudly been part of the Waiuku community since 2011, providing fun, engaging and reliable care for local families.
Based in the Waiuku Primary School Hall, children enjoy a spacious environment where they can play, create, learn and connect. We also have full use of the kitchen facilities for cooking and baking activities, along with access to the school's playgrounds and large field, giving children plenty of opportunities for active outdoor play.
The Waiuku programme supports families from across the wider Waiuku area, providing transport to and from Waipipi School, Otaua School, Sandspit Road School, View Road School, Glenbrook School and Pukeoware School. Children attending Aka Aka School can also join the programme by travelling on the school bus to Waiuku Primary School, where a KAS team member will meet them. To help make afternoons easier for busy families, we also offer activity drop offs to selected local sports clubs and activities within the Waiuku area.
The KAS Holiday Programme also operates from our Waiuku site, with every day featuring creative activities, sports, games, themed days, special visitors and exciting adventures that keep children active, engaged and having fun throughout the school holidays.

At KAS, we believe children thrive when they have a balance of routine, choice and fun. Every session follows a familiar daily routine that helps children feel settled, confident and know what to expect, while still providing plenty of opportunities to explore, create, play and connect.
What a typical KAS day looks like:
Before School Care

6.30am - programme open

6.30 - 6.45am - quiet activities

6.45 - 7.40am - breakfast

7.50am - whistle blows for van, children are lined up and signed out on tablet as they leave the hall

8.10 - 8.15am - whistle blows for cleanup, then staff run an organised game

8.20am - children sit down ready to be signed out/roll call

8.25am - children are walked down to the school and released at 8.30am

After School Care

2.15pm - vans leave programme to pick up from other schools

3.00 - 3.30pm - sign in, homework and a supervised game and/or craft

3.30 - 3.45pm - afternoon tea

3.45 - 4.45pm - structured group activity time e.g. cooking, science, arts and crafts, sports and games

4.45 - 5.15pm - roll call then free choice, playground time or an organised game

5.15 - 6.00pm - clean up and wind down, quiet games
Holiday Programme
8am to 3pm – main programme, plus we offer before and after care from 7am to 8am, and from 3pm to 6pm.

7.00 - 10.00am - (No trip) kids choice, supervised games and crafts are set up for children to participate

10.00 - 10.15am - morning tea (children bring their own)

10.15 - 12.30pm - activity time - organised themed activities in groups

12.30 - 1.00pm - lunch (children bring their own)

1.15 - 3.30pm - activity time - organised themed activities in groups

3.30pm - afternoon tea (supplied by KAS)

Hi I am Meliesa but everyone calls me Mel!
I am originally from South Africa but moved to beautiful NZ in 2017 with my family. I am a proud mum of two kids & one very spoiled four-legged baby Becky, our adorable King Charles Spaniel.
I absolutely love working with children and helping create a space where they feel safe, happy and free to be themselves.
When I’m not busy with the kids, you’ll usually find me doing something creative! Art is my happy place and getting messy, creative and imaginative with children is one of my favourite things to do.
I love bringing fun, laughter, creativity and a little bit of silliness into every day!
