WELCOME TO KAS POKENO

KAS has proudly been part of the growing Pokeno community since 2020, providing fun, engaging and reliable care for local families.

 

Located in Room 20 at Pokeno School, our dedicated programme space opens directly onto a large school field, making it easy for children to enjoy active outdoor play every day. We also have access to the school's playgrounds, giving children plenty of room to explore, play games and spend time with friends.

There is always something happening at KAS. Whether children are getting creative with art, joining in a game on the field, baking in the kitchen or simply relaxing with friends after a busy school day, our team creates a positive and inclusive atmosphere where every child is encouraged to join in, have a go and enjoy being part of the KAS family.

​

Our Holiday Programme also operates from the Pokeno site, with exciting, themed days, creative activities, sports, games, special visitors and unforgettable adventures throughout the school holidays.

pokeno care SCHedules

At KAS, we believe children thrive when they have a balance of routine, choice and fun. Every session follows a familiar daily routine that helps children feel settled, confident and know what to expect, while still providing plenty of opportunities to explore, create, play and connect.

What a typical KAS day looks like:

Before School Care

  • 6.30am - programme open

  • 6.30 - 6.45am - quiet activities

  • 6.45 - 7.40am - breakfast

  • 8.10am - whistle blows for cleanup, then staff run an organised game

  • 8.20am - children sit down ready to be signed out/roll call

  • 8.30am - children released to school, new entrants are walked to their classroom

​After School Care

  • 3.00 - 3.30pm - sign in, homework club and a supervised game and/or craft

  • 3.30 - 3.45pm - afternoon tea

  • 3.45 - 4.45pm - structured group activity time e.g. cooking, science, arts and crafts, sports and games

  • 4.45 - 5.15pm - roll call then free choice, playground time or an organised game

  • 5.15 - 6.00pm - clean up and wind down, quiet games​

​Holiday Programme

8am to 3pm – main programme, plus we offer before and after care from 7am to 8am, and from 3pm to 6pm.

 

  • 7.00 - 10.00am - (No trip) kids choice, supervised games and crafts are set up for children to participate

  • 10.00 - 10.15am - morning tea (children bring their own)

  • 10.15 - 12.30pm - activity time - organised themed activities in groups

  • 12.30 - 1.00pm - lunch (children bring their own)

  • 1.15 - 3.30pm - activity time - organised themed activities in groups

  • 3.30pm - afternoon tea (supplied by KAS)

  • 4.00pm - 5.30pm - kids choice and supervised activities

  • 5.30 - 6.00pm - quiet game time

 

Roll call at 9.45am/12.30pm/3.30pm​
